To bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership development programs.

Goals:

Structure:

Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, and organized on the local, state, and national levels. Local chapters operate with the guidance of business teacher/advisers and advisory councils composed of school officials, business people, and community representatives. State advisers and committee members coordinate state chapter activities and serve as liaison to the national organization.

A Board of Directors, composed of professional educators, business leaders, and division presidents, sets policy and appoints a President/CEO who employs a national staff and directs association programs.

The Congressional Advisory Committee, formed in 1982, of congressional leaders, provides direct access to individual legislators who actively support FBLA-PBL and foster wider recognition of the association's programs.

Funding:

Financing is primarily by member dues; corporate and foundation grants are other important revenue sources.

A Presidential Classroom for Young Americans, American Management Association, American Vocational Association, Association of Independent Colleges and Schools, Horatio Alger Association, Johnson and Wales University, National Association of Secondary School Principals, National Business Education Association, National Management Association, U.S. Department of Education, and Wall Street Portfolios, producers of the AT&T Investment Challenge.
